RootThru Plant Pot benefits

The easy-to-use, biobased pot for better roots

  • As plants root through the walls of the pot, they encounter air and are pruned back - this "air pruning" creates a more fibrous, dense, healthy root system for better water and nutrient use efficiency

  • Pots arrive folded and flat to save space, and easily pop open when you are ready to plant

  • Pots can go in the soil with the plant or be removed and composted

  • More durable than other biodegradable pots, especially when wet

  • Eco-friendly, peat-free, and made from 100% plant-based materials

  • Patent pending and proudly made in the USA

How are RootThru Plant Pots made?

RootThru Plant Pots are formed from our patent-pending composite fabric made from two sustainable, plant-based materials. We've combined the benefits of each material through our proprietary bonding processes to address the pitfalls of plastic, peat-based, and paper wrap plant pots.

Brown side

This side is made from sustainably-sourced Kraft paper. It provides the rigidity and structure needed to create a stand-alone plant pot.

This side is visible on the inside of the pot.

White side

This side is made from polylactic acid (PLA), which is a nonsynthetic, renewable plant-based product. PLA is durable, flexible, naturally reflective, and UV resistant, which adds strength to the paper in wet conditions.
